MORE ABOUT ME...
As a collaborative artist, creative producer, and improviser, I believe storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have for connection. I am a writer, actress, and teaching artist currently based in Ponta Delgada, Azores. I have more than 25 years of experience creating theater, film, and improvisation projects, including co-writing and starring in the award-winning improvised feature film Unscrewed, and co-founding the Unscripted New York Theater & Film Festival.

Leading Ford Improv workshop at Diversity & Inclusion Day
2026 has been a full year already!
First, I participated in the Werner Herzog Experience at the Azores Film Festival. I was lead actor in an improvised short film that shot at a traditional local fruit stand in Caloura, São Miguel. My experience creating short films at Unscripted New York, fully conceived and edited in five days, came in handy during the quick-paced shoot. [You can see some of the shorts from Unscripted New York on my YouTube page.]
As a writer, I've recently completed my first feature-length screenplay, Antena Marconi, inspired by the history, landscapes, and communities of
the island of São Miguel. The screenplay is currently in competition as I continue to write and develop new screenplays and short films, as well as help other writers enjoy the process of creating stories and sharing them with their community.
I am the co-founder of Co.Arts Azores, an arts collective dedicated to community storytelling and creative collaboration, and we have our first event this summer - Improv Game Night at Casino Azores. Through playful improvisation games, we'll create a relaxed and welcoming space where everyone can participate, connect, and have fun. This event marks Co.Arts Azores' first public collaboration on São Miguel, and we're delighted to partner with Arte e Alegria, an organization dedicated to fostering creativity, cultural exchange, and opportunities for local artists and the wider community. We're also grateful to Casino Azores for hosting the event at the Full House Bar, and to Romanti Cultura, whose mission is to promote cultural initiatives that celebrate the value of art and creative expression within the community.
I’m especially passionate about bringing theater and improvisation training into schools and community spaces — places where people can develop confidence, empathy, and creativity. Casino Azores is one example of a unique community space focused on games and play for adults. Improv Game Night will allow us to discover what happens when a room full of strangers starts creating together - There is sure to be lots of laughter and fun!
I believe improvisation is more than performance — it’s a practice of curiosity, resilience, and connection. Whether in the classroom, on stage, in film, or in community collaborations, my goal is to create a space where people feel empowered to share their voices and shine their light.
In São Miguel, there’s a growing demand for theater education, and for community building, and I’m excited to help fill that gap by offering programs that blend performance, storytelling, and ensemble-based play. My hope is to spread this learning to the other islands within the Azores archipelago and bring the JOY of improv to as many people as I can!

My background spans theater, film, writing, event production, and team facilitation, with decades spent in rehearsal rooms, classrooms, on stages and film sets — from New York’s Off-Off-Broadway, like the Fringe Festival, to experimental film sets in NYC, to comedy troupes and theater ensembles in Chicago, Detroit, and Boston. As a long-time improviser and teacher, I’ve trained with renowned companies, developed original shows and films, and led festival workshops that help artists, students, and organizations alike thrive.
“We wanted to create a place where professional artists, curious beginners, longtime residents, newcomers, and anyone drawn toward creativity could meet without worrying about experience or credentials. We imagined a space where laughter, curiosity, generosity, and discovery mattered more than perfection.”
